Home of the Iditarod & Sarah Palin
Day Tour starts in Anchorage, check in at depot, 7:30 a.m.

Travel by train and van to the most popular hot spots in the Wasilla and Palmer areas. Situated fifty miles north of Anchorage, this area is also known as the Matuanuska Valley.

Small personal tour, 8 hours, Monday-Saturday - maximum 10 people

Tour includes the cost of the train ride, lunch, snack, dog sled ride, watch a video, tour the musk ox farm, reindeer farm, native village and see Sarah Palins home.

Board the Alaska Railroad in Anchorage,
your ticket will be waiting for you at the ticket window in the depot,
411 W. 1st Ave.. Check In: 7:30 a.m., Departs: 8:15 a.m..

- Ride a Dog Sled (weather permitting) with an Iditarod musher, Raymee Redington.

- Iditarod Sled Dog Race Headquarters, Gift Shop and watch a Video of Race Footage

- Lunch at the historic Colony Inn Cafe, your choice from the menu.

- View dozens of Musk Ox, prehistoric survivors of the Ice Age

- City tour of Palmer, an agriculture colony from the New Deal, home of the 100 pound cabbages.

- Walk amongst a hundred Reindeer, hand-feed and pet them, see Moose, Elk, and Deer.

- Visit a Native Village and tour two historic Russian Orthodox Churches and Athabaskan spirit houses

- Arrive back in Anchorage around 4:00 p.m. and you will be dropped off at your hotel or any spot you would like to be taken to downtown.

Alaska Life & Glacier Tours, LLC

Alaska Life & Glacier Tours is a family business owned and managed by Barbara and Gary Adams. They are life long Alaskans, Gary was born in Palmer in 1953 when Alaska was a territory. Barbara drove up the Alcan with her family in 1953, and grew up in Anchorage. They each bring to the tour business over 55 years of Alaskan experiences, including statehood, the 1964 Earthquake (the largest ever recorded in North America, 9.2), volcanic eruptions, growing up on the first modern dairy farm in Alaska, working at salmon canneries in Bristol Bay, and working up at Prudhoe Bay during the pipeline construction. The Adams raised seven children in the Mat-Su Valley.
